☑ Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors are required to confirm compliance with all items below before submitting. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned without review.

1 The manuscript represents original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere, and falls within IJAERD's engineering and technology scope.
2 The appropriate article type has been selected (Original Research Article, Review, or Short Communication) and the manuscript is structured and within the word-count limits for that type.
3 The manuscript is in clear, professional English, submitted as a PDF, and follows IEEE reference style.
4 The manuscript includes an abstract of 150–250 words and 4–6 relevant keywords.
5 All listed authors meet the four ICMJE criteria for authorship, have approved the final version, and have declared their contributions using the CRediT taxonomy. The corresponding author has registered an ORCID identifier.
6 All required declarations are included: Conflicts of Interest, Funding, Data Availability, Ethics Approval (where applicable), and Use of AI Tools (where applicable).
7 If any author holds an editorial role or is in the active reviewer pool, this has been declared in the cover letter so that the Editorial Submissions Policy can be applied.
8 The corresponding author has read and accepts IJAERD's Copyright & Licensing terms, Open Access Policy, and the applicable Publication Charges.
1. Before Submitting
Confirm that your manuscript falls within IJAERD's scope of engineering and technology research.
Confirm that your manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Familiarise yourself with IJAERD's Publication Ethics, Authorship and Contributorship, Data Availability Policy, AI Use Policy, and Conflicts of Interest requirements.
If you are a member of the editorial team or the active reviewer pool, declare this in the cover letter so the journal can apply the Editorial Submissions Policy.
2. Article Types & Lengths
Original Research Article 🔬

A full-length empirical or methodological contribution presenting substantive, previously unpublished findings.

Length: 5,000–9,000 words (including references) Abstract: up to 250 words (unstructured) Figures/Tables: up to 8 combined Keywords: 4–6
Review Article 📚

A structured synthesis following PRISMA or comparable methodology. Narrative reviews without documented methodology are out of scope.

Length: 6,000–12,000 words (including references) Abstract: up to 300 words (structured: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions) Figures/Tables: up to 10 combined (including PRISMA diagram) Keywords: 4–6 | Supplementary: PRISMA checklist + full search strings
Short Communication ⚡

A concise report of a focused, self-contained finding meriting rapid dissemination: preliminary results, novel methods, or timely findings.

Length: up to 4,000 words (including references) Abstract: up to 200 words (unstructured) Figures/Tables: up to 4 combined Keywords: 3–5 | References: up to 30
3. Manuscript Structure

Original Research Articles & Short Communications:

Title → Authors & Affiliations → Abstract → Keywords → Introduction → Methods → Results → Discussion → Conclusions → CRediT Contribution Statement → Conflicts of Interest → Data Availability → Use of AI Tools (if applicable) → Acknowledgements → Funding → References

Review Articles: Follow PRISMA structure — Introduction → Methods (protocol, search strategy, eligibility criteria, data extraction, synthesis) → Results (PRISMA flow diagram, study characteristics) → Discussion → Limitations → Conclusions → Declarations → References.

4. Title, Abstract & Keywords
Title:Specific, informative, free of unnecessary jargon. Up to 20 words is typical.
Abstract:Single paragraph summarising motivation, methods, key results, and conclusions. Avoid undefined abbreviations and references.
Keywords:4–6 keywords below the abstract for indexing. Choose terms not already in the title.
5. Language & Style

Manuscripts must be in clear, professional English. Both British and American English are acceptable, applied consistently throughout. Authors who are not native English speakers may use a language-editing service before submission. IJAERD does not provide language editing during peer review; manuscripts with significant language issues will be returned at the initial editorial check.

6. Figures & Tables
Figures should be high-resolution: vector graphics for line art; minimum 300 dpi for raster images.
Tables must be editable text — not embedded as images.
Each figure and table must have a caption that allows it to be understood without reference to the body text.
Where third-party content is used in figures, authors are responsible for obtaining and supplying the necessary permissions before publication.
7. References — IEEE Style

IJAERD uses a numbered IEEE-style citation system. References are listed in order of first citation in the body text. Each reference must include complete bibliographic information including DOI where available. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and existence of all references.

⚠ AI-assisted literature search: If a literature search was AI-assisted, authors must independently verify that all cited works exist and are accurately described. See the AI Use Policy.
8. Required Ethical Declarations
CRediT Author Contribution Statement (full details →)
Required in all manuscripts — list each author's specific contributions using the 14 CRediT roles.
Conflicts of Interest (full details →)
All authors must declare competing interests, or state that there are none.
Data Availability Statement (full details →)
Required in all manuscripts — specify how underlying data may be accessed.
Use of AI Tools (full details →)
Required where AI assistance beyond minor language editing has been used.
Ethics Approval
Required where research involves human participants, animals, or sensitive personal data.
Funding Statement
State all funding sources or declare none.
9. Templates

Authors are strongly encouraged to use IJAERD's manuscript template. Using the template assists the production team and reduces time between acceptance and publication.

10. How to Submit
1 Register or log in to your account on the IJAERD website.
2 Click Submit Paper Online and follow the submission form steps.
3 Upload the manuscript file, anonymised for double-blind review — remove all author names and affiliations from the manuscript body.
4 Upload supplementary files separately: non-anonymised title page with author details, the cover letter, and any data or code files.
5 Complete the submission metadata: title, abstract, keywords, and all author details with ORCID identifiers.
6 Confirm compliance with the Submission Checklist above and submit.

11. After Submission

Authors receive an automated acknowledgement upon submission. The Editor-in-Chief or a delegated editor performs an initial check — typically within 1–2 working days — after which the manuscript either enters peer review or is returned. Decision updates are communicated by email. The full peer-review process, including typical timelines (2–3 days review time) and decision categories, is on the Peer Review Policy page.

12. Publication Charges

IJAERD charges a publication fee only after paper acceptance. Submission and peer review are completely free. Current charges: ₹1,500 (Indian authors) | USD 50 (International authors). Full details on the Payment Information page.
