📄 Overview
IJAERD requires authors to make the data, code, and other research artefacts that support the conclusions of their work available to readers, subject to clearly stated and legitimate restrictions. This policy aligns with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), supporting reproducibility and the long-term integrity of the published record.
1. Mandatory Data Availability Statement
● Required in every manuscript. Every submission to IJAERD must include a Data Availability Statement, placed in a dedicated section between the Conclusions and the References. The statement specifies what data underlie the findings reported in the article and how those data may be accessed.
A Data Availability Statement must always be present, even when there are restrictions or no new data were created. Choose the option below that best applies to your study.
2. Acceptable Forms of Data Availability
Data in a Public Repository 📁
The data are deposited in a public repository with a persistent identifier.
➤ Provide: repository name, persistent identifier or DOI/URL, and access terms.
➤ Recommended repositories: Zenodo, Figshare, Dryad, IEEE DataPort, GitHub (for code), or a discipline-specific repository.
Data Included in the Article 📰
The data are fully reported in the article and its supplementary files; no separate dataset is required.
➤ Applicable when all data supporting conclusions are presented in figures, tables, or supplementary files.
Data Available on Reasonable Request 📞
The data are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request, subject to specified conditions.
➤ Conditions must be stated (e.g. institutional data-sharing agreement, ethics committee approval requirement).
➤ The corresponding author's email address must be current and monitored.
Restricted Data 🔒
The data are subject to restrictions (e.g. commercial confidentiality, personal data protection, ethics approval limits).
➤ Specify the nature of the restriction and the conditions under which the data may be obtained.
No New Data Created 📋
The study used only previously published data; cite the original sources.
➤ All data referenced must be cited with their original publication and, where applicable, persistent identifier.
3. Code & Software Availability
Where the study uses or produces software or code, authors are required to:

Cite all third-party software used, with version numbers, in the Methods section.

Make any custom code that is essential to reproducing the reported results available in a public repository (GitHub, GitLab, Zenodo) with a persistent identifier.

Specify the licence under which the code is released. Recommended licences: MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL, or BSD for code; CC BY for data.
4. Materials Availability
For studies that involve specific physical or digital materials — trained machine-learning models, manufactured artefacts, custom test rigs, or proprietary datasets — authors should describe the materials in sufficient detail for replication and indicate whether the materials are available on request. Where availability is restricted, state the reason.
5. Reproducibility
IJAERD encourages submissions to include a Reproducibility section or subsection within the Methods describing:
➤ The computational environment (operating system, library versions, hardware specifications)
➤ All random seeds used in stochastic methods or model training
➤ The steps required to reproduce the reported results from the published code and data
➤ For machine-learning work: training/validation/test split details, hyperparameter settings, and evaluation protocol
6. Example Data Availability Statements
📝 Example 1 — Public Repository
"The dataset analysed in this study is available in the Zenodo repository at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.EXAMPLE under a CC BY 4.0 licence. Custom analysis code is available at https://github.com/EXAMPLE under an MIT licence."
📝 Example 2 — Reasonable Request
"The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request. Restrictions apply to the availability of these data, which were used under licence for the present study and are not publicly available."
📝 Example 3 — No New Data Created
"No new data were created or analysed in this study. All data referenced in this work are publicly available from the cited sources."
