-In this paper Lagrange's algorithm is proposed to optimize Economic Emission Dispatch Problem (EED) ofthermal units. Economic Emission Dispatch Problem is used to minimize both total fuel cost of generation and the emissionof toxic gases of the thermal generating units. The bi-objective problem is converted into single objective problem byintroducing price penalty factor to maintain an acceptable system performance in terms of limits on generator real poweroutputs, with minimum emission dispatch. In this paper, the proposed algorithm has b een applied to a standard IEEE 30 bustest system with six generating units. The total fuel cost of the economic emission dispatch problem is less by using Min -Maxprice penalty factor approach in comparison to Max-Max price penalty factor.
