A lot of work has been done in the field of heat transfer augmentation. Many researchers have conducted experimentsto find out effect of various passive heat transfer augmentation elements like twisted tapes, springs, conical tube elements etc.Effect of these elements on important parameters like heat transfer co-efficient, friction factor and surface temperature hasbeen investigated. Some of them are described here.
