Abstract

This paper the performance of two precoding methods for Co-ordinated Multipoint (CoMP) Downlink
transmission systems, Singular value decomposition and the QR decomposition is being studied and finally compared. In
this we propose to study the performance of the two precoding scheme using Rayleigh fading channel. The Bit Error Rate
(BER) performance of CoMP system is studied through different algorithms for improvement of system performance. The
improvement of BER performance is based on SVD and QRD algorithm. Basically these precoding schemes are
adopted from the multiple input multipoint output (MIMO).Computer simulations show that, in the case for different
MIMO like 2x2, 4x4, 8x8 QRD performs better than SVD but at the cost of computational complexity. MATLAB
simulations are used to evaluate the performance of the studied precoders in terms of QRD and SVD for CoMP
Downlink systems with MIMO.
