Abstract

transient stability is one important parameter in case of inter connected power system. With the involvement
doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind generator (WG) system, transient oscillations in the system increases.
To reduce these oscillations or to improve the transient stability of the system, this paper proposes resistive type solid
state fault current limiter (R-type SSFCL) with simple controller. The proposed method applied on test system and
compared with series dynamic breaking resistor (SDBR) and LR type solid state fault current limiter (SSFCL-LR)
methods. The proposed method compared with these methods under different fault conditions, the results demonstrated
that the proposed method effectively improves the transient stability.
