Abstract

his report will introduce the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) in the field of Solid Waste
Management. The study will demonstrate the aid of GIS through Route Optimizationin different areas of Lahore. It will
increase system efficiency, reduce workload, save time and cost.The study also proposes plan for transportation of waste
from dustbins to the dumping site through waste municipal trucks via optimised routes such that they cover shortest
distance in disposal of waste through efficient paths.
