Abstract

According to IEEE 802.11 protocol, Access Point(AP) periodically transmit beacon frames which carry
mostly network specific information. All the wireless stations , also known as wireless clients within the vicinity of
transmission range of AP receive corresponding beacon and use the information embedded in it for various purposes.
The larger channel width of IEEE 802.11 is supported by ns3. Various permutation algorithms are studied and
implemented. One of the efficient algorithms of permutation will be used as a key, encoded at the access point
The key will be decoded by the end user for providing security over the transmission. In this ,the Time stamp field of the
beacon frames will be modified by adding the key and then that will be encoded with the help of protocol stenography.
For generation of permutation, a pseudo random code generator will be used according to its efficiency. Ns3 is used for
the simulation process. It is used because it studies the system behavior in highly controlled and reproducible manner
