Abstract

In this paper, the study of the face composite system is represented. The face composite system is the system
of making a sketch from the description of witness in a face frame by combining various facial parts. For years,
sketching of faces was done manually. After the evolution of technology some computer generated sketching systems
were developed. In this paper, the review of the different techniques used to generate sketches is presented. The review
suggests that computer generated face composite systems can be very efficient and can potentially replace manual
systems. Also, matching these generated sketches with digital images is a very important law enforcement application.
The paper contains techniques to match generated sketches to digital images.
