Poly (ethyl methacrylate) (PEMA) and Poly (vinyl acetate) (PVAc) blended solvent free gel polymer
electrolytes were prepared with LiClO4 salt and various plasticizers (Ethylene Carbonate (EC), Propylene Carbonate
(PC) and γ-Butyrolactone (GBL)) by solvent casting technique. The structural reorganization of the prepared samples
has been confirmed from XRD analysis Comparison of the ionic conductivity values of the electrolyte membranes with
different plasticizers is done using ac impedance analysis and the maximum ionic conductivity of 8.073×10-4
Scm-1
at
room temperature has been obtained for the sample with EC as plasticizer. The Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher (VTF) relation
holds good for this system due to the non-linear variation of conductivity with temperature. The porous nature of the gel
polymer electrolytes is identified from the scanning electron microscopic (SEM) images.
