Transmission networks of modern power systems are becoming stressed due to growing demand. This willcause poor voltage regulation and reduce power handling capacity of power system. These problems can be removed byFACTS devices. These FACTS devices are used for power factor correction, flicker mitigation, and steady-state voltagecontrol, stability enhancement. In this Paper the reactive power compensation is done in 2 machine 3 bus system usingSVC and Fuzzy controlled SVC. The simulation results show that the new controller logic gives better performance ascompared to the other types.
