Abstract
Labor has a significant influence on construction productivity. The level of productivity is a result of thedriving, induced, and restraining forces acting upon workers. These forces act positively and negatively with regard toproductivity improvement. A framework for analyzing the influence of each of these forces on four major labor relateddeterminants of construction productivity is presented. Approaches to productivity improvement are analyzed in Terms ofreducing the negative forces and strengthening the positive forces
