Lean is about controlling the resources inaccordance with the customer’s needs and to reduce unnecessarywaste. Six sigma is defined: as a business process that allowscompanies to drastically improve their bottom line by designingand monitoring everyday business activities in ways thatminimize waste and resources while increasing customersatisfaction by some of its proponents. The fusion of Lean and SixSigma improvement methods is required because: Lean cannotbring a process under statistical control. Six Sigma alone cannotdramatically improve process speed or reduce invested capital. Both enable the reduction of the cost of complexity. Lean sixsigma (LSS) is a business strategy and methodology thatincreases process performance resulting in enhanced customersatisfaction and improved bottom line results. Six Sigma isusually used to address complex problems for which the solutionis unknown. In this paper, the brief review of LSS application indifferent area. Based on literature, the paper is alienated intoconventional approaches such as Lean and Six sigma and recentLSS techniques applied to improve organization performance interms of quality, through put, producti vity improvement, withenhancing overall production efficiency.
