Machhu Dam III is located across Machhu River inthe Morbi Taluka of Rajkot district. Remote sensing and GIS hasbeen used in determining ground and hydrological conditions ofthe catchment area. Various thematic layers have beendeveloped, integrated and analyzed for the assessment andmanagement study of the sub watershed area of the MachhuRiver. Geoinformatics technology has been helpful in theassessment of watershed area of Dam prior to filling of thereservoir for planning and management considering present landuse pattern and future water requirements and land use plan.
