Concrete is the most extensively used among allthe construction material and is frequentlyconsidered as the most economical and durablematerial. For effective quality and productivityimprovement of infrastructure projects, statistical quality control (SQC) applicationproves to be an important tool which can beused in order to ensure that concrete producedis of desired quality. In order to identify themajor failure mode in production of ReadyMixed Concrete (RMC) of different grades(M20,M25,M30) FMEA is used. The FailureMode Effect Analysis (FMEA) technique is toidentify risk factors for the potential failuremode in the production process of concrete andto take the appropriate corrective actions forimprovement. The risk priority number resultsindicate’s process failure in terms of irregulargrading process, material testing prior use inmixing process which were the important factorto be monitored for quality control.
