In the current era, civil engineers are mainly indulged in the construction sector for improvinginfrastructure of our country. This in turn alarms geotechnical engineer to go for building structure even in weaker soilsleading to the need of improvement of such soils. Electro kinetic process is one of the best methods of soil improvementby dewatering, decontaminating and enhancing soil-chemical interactions. The present research work envisaged to studyvarious factors affecting dewatering using nonwoven conductive geotextiles with help of different nonwoven material andsteel mesh. The objective of paper is to evaluate the moisture content parameter and to study the effect of various factorsduring the process of dewatering. The present study, for vertical dewatering four laboratory scale cylindrical modelswere prepared for the experimental work. With the help of carbon rods acting as an anode and nonwoven conductivegeotextile which acts as a cathode current is applied to the soil for obtaining the required outcome. The differentparameters studied include effect of using different nonwoven geotextile and effect of preloading. The results were takenfor the moisture content for the preloading as well as using EKG on daily basis at fixed time.
