Abstract
Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is an approach to public-key cryptography based on the algebraicstructure of elliptic curves over finite fields .The principal attraction of ECC compared to RSA is that it offers equal securityfor a smaller bit size, thereby reducing processing overhead..The paper discusses Koblitz's method to represent a message toa point and vice-versa. The paper also describes the Data security using ECC by Koblitz encoding method.
