Delays can be defined as time overrun or extension of time to complete the project. Delay is always themajor loss to any construction project. As construction is one of the largest economic activity in India, the effects ofdelay are still in millions; which surely decreases the GDP of the country. Delay makes the process tardy andmanagement of delay is extremely challenging as most of the projects do not meet the expected requirement and fails toperform within time. Therefore, various types and causes of delays should be studied accurately. There are manyresearches on construction delays but still some improvements are required, so there is a high requirement of a notableand feasible study on construction delays in India. The aim of the paper is to identify the causes of delays throughliterature reviews in Indian construction projects.
